i have a solar panel and want to connect it to a battery that charges via a normal 115V AC outlet?

the solar panel has two alligator clamps (like jumper cables) at the end, I guess to charge a battery.

I guess I need some device I can hook the alligator clamps to that has a 115V plug on the other end I can plug the battery charger into?

Is there more to it than that?

Anyone know if there is a solar panel that you can travel with that is not USB plug in ?

I am heading to Nepal and do not want to lose power on my cameras but they can only be charged via “plugging in”. A USB connection does not work. Looking for a solar panel to clip to my bag or carry that I can plug in the charger as if plugging in to wall outlet. Thanks.

If a solar panel is rated for 5 volts, does that mean that it will never achieve higher?

I’m making a USB charger and since I want to also with my iPod I want to make sure that if I buy 5 volt solar panels and wire them in parallel that they won’t achieve greater than 5 volts which would fry my iPod.

Artificial light to charge solar panel?

I have a sun lamp and have noticed that when I have it on, the charging light on my solar chargers come on stating that it is charging. Given that it is winter and don’t have a lot of direct sun light during the day, could I use that lamp to fully charge, say, a solar/hand crank only powered radio?
I know that using a lamp isn’t the greenest option, but it is a low energy lamp. I would have to hand crank for at least 2 hours strait to get a full charge on it.

Can you charge a phone with a small solar panel?

I have a small solar panel that outputs around 3 volts, and it probably doesn’t have much amperage. I was wondering if I could simply hook up the solar panel’s wires to my phone charger’s wires (that plug into the wall) and charge my phone, without any voltage changer or anything. Would this work?
